PAX East and Spectrum 17

Lars Grant-West and I will be Wizards of the Coast's artist guests at the PAX East convention in Boston this coming weekend (March 26-28).  The convention will be held at the Hynes Convention Center, and we will be located in the main hallway, outside the Magic: the Gathering events space and the Exhibit Hall.  Our signing schedule will be as follows: Friday 3/26 2-4 pm and 5:00 – 7:00pm; Saturday 3/27 10am – 1pm and 2 – 6pm; Sunday 3/28 10am – 1pm and 2pm – 5pm.  We'll be happy to sign what you have for us, and some of our original artwork will be on display.  We'll also have prints and artist proofs available, so come on down and say hello -- we'd both love to see you!

Also, the official Spectrum 17 list has been released and my name seems to be on it.  Congratulations to all the other artists that got in, and thanks to the judges for tossing the votes our way.  The check's in the mail - I kid, I kid!  Suffice it to say that I'm looking forward, yet again, to seeing this years book!

New Piece

Added a new painting to the gallery: Perimeter Captain.  I'm beginning a work binge, so I'll be updating sporadically.  Hopefully I'll be back up for air real soon.

Beautiful Grim and Boston, Too.

I want to extend a big thank you to Robert Dougherty and his crew at the Magic: the Gathering, Worldwake pre-release event yesterday.  It was a good time, and they treated me better than I probably deserve, so thanks to them.  The players and fans, also deserve a thanks for their support and kind words.  The day went by alarmingly fast and was a a lot of fun.  Thanks again, to all!

I also wanted to point out that I've added a new piece in the gallery, here.  It's my submission to the Beautiful Grim charity, the details for which can be found here.  I do hope you check it out as there's a lot of really great work up for grabs.  I will be sure to keep you all informed as details become available.

Boston Prerelease Details

A quick note to pass along the details of the Boston prerelease tournament.  It is being heald tomorrow at the Charlestown Knights of Columbus, located at 75 School St, Charlestown.  The pertinent phone number is 617-666-5799, and the pertinent wesite is located here.  I'll have prints, artist proofs, paintings, and pens to sign stuff with, so please stop on by if you can!  I look forward to seeing everybody there!  Thanks!

More Appearances and New Art

Not only will I be in Boston for the Worldwake pre-release at the end of January, but I will be at the Wizards of the Coast booth at PAX East, which will also take place in Boston from March 26th through March 28th.  This will be the first run for PAX on the east coast, which has enjoyed a pretty successful run in Seattle, Washington.  As mentioned, I will be at the Wizards booth where I will be signing stuff, showing off my wares, and chatting people up.

In addition to my two Boston appearances, I will be the Artist Guest of Honor at Conglomeration, a science fiction and fantasy convention in Louisville, Kentucky which takes place April 9-11.  I will have a good deal of work showing there, will be talking on a panel or two, and even doing a demo of some sort.  If you happen to be in the area, please stop on by and say hello and check out the con!

I'll be providing more details for these appearances as they become available, but in the meantime check out the new painting in the gallery, Joraga Warcaller.

Finally, I just wanted to make a quick note about the new graphic novel, Path of the Planeswalker, from Wizards of the Coast.  It's basically an anthology of Wizards' online comic tales of their planeswalker characters - seven pages of which I painted.  There's some really gorgeous work in the book by many of my fellow Magic artists, as well as some really great comic artists taking a crack at the world of Magic, so it's worth taking a look if you get a chance!

Thus concludes my longest news bit yet - more soon!
